A winter Walk

On Saturday 14th January we went on a walk starting at Clophill.

It was a cold frosty start, but we were dressed warmly and the sun soon came out to make it a beautiful day.

These are of the ruin of Clophill Church. Abandoned St Marys Church is estimated to be up to 400 years old. There have been reported incidents of satanic rituals at Clophill Church.

We saw sheep, horses and these magnificent Highland Cattle.

The sun shining through the early morning mist was ethereal, but unfortunately not easy to capture photographically!

We walked to Upper Gravenhurst where some of us explored St. Giles Church, which dates back to the 12th Century, whilst others just enjoyed our coffee. Its always a good idea to take a flask and something to eat even if there may be a local pub (or as in this case 3 although we only visited the one in Silsoe).

We came back via Silsoe,
We are walking towards the Research establishment here.

We passed Wrest Park House before returning to Clophill where we found a very welcome establishment serving snacks and hot drinks. The main comment at the end we we enjoyed it so much we couldn't believe we had walked over 9 miles.
